Northern Paintbrush
Castilleja anguistfolia  (Nutt.) B. Don

Perennial herb found in sagebrush hills and plains.  Flowers are iinflorescence  yellow, yellow-orange, white, pin and violet, usually variable in population. Wyeth sent specimens to Nuttall in 1833 with the notation (dated 9 June 1833)  that it had been found in dry prairies near the sources of the Columbia water in vicinity of the Little Lost River in what is now Idaho. Found in sagebrush hills and plains across southern Idaho.
